Woke up, fell back asleep: went on a train and hit my head, conductor was angry, ended up on a plane, then landed at the bottom of Manhattan, but in a spot where there were a lot of Nazis who wouldn't let me walk down the streets because I "looked Jewish"? I was going to go back into the airport and try to climb down a wall to find a safer place to go, but then woke up; a very strange one tonight wouldn't you say?

I kept trying to beat the game in different ways. At one point I was on the beach and stick figures were there and a friend gave me sheet music for a kalimba and I tried to play it but it was difficult. It eventually became like real life and I sent letters home. I looked up the endings and there was an ending where you don't leave for the island at all. At the end of the dream there was also an unrelated part where I found a giant store with pirated books also Morty from Rick and Morty hung out with a bunch of Vikings

7/1: Watched News From Home (1976)
Review (Spoilers) This is a very patient film. I believe it's the sort of film my father would find gauche, and my mother would try to enjoy but become bored with. I was captivated by both the sights of my city and the emotions which were triggered in me. They were not very intense emotions. They were comfortably noticeable enough. At first I was restless, but quickly matched the pace of the film. This quiet summer morning with very little responsibility was a great time to become patient on the level of the film. Before I watched News From Home, I had not looked too far into the synopsis (in order to enjoy the surprise), but I did know the general premise of voiceover accompanied by New York City. I did not expect it to be of the mother towards her daughter, I was expecting the other way around. It was a pleasure to be surprised.
I was strangely growing angry at the mother's insistence, though then promptly embarrassed by my own feelings. It's not strange for a mother to fret over her daughter and yet it maddened me, just a bit. I found it an excellent touch that the noise of the city often blared over her letters. I was additionally frustrated at those passersby who stared intently and mildly confused at the camera, though I can't say I wouldn't be doing the same, but it broke partially that candid sense and I was then embarrassed again at my own frustration with the innocent. In totality I felt resonance with my city. Those were the happiest moments. The final scene drifting out into the ocean had me feeling dissociative. It did its job.
Later today, we go out to Coney Island to scope for an event I'm planning, so possibly this film will have me more connected with the past. I do wish I were alive at this time of the city, but then I'd miss a lot more.
